For best results, It's important to allow the lash extension adhesive to cure for at least 24-48 hours

Eyelash extensions are an excellent choice for those who want to enhance their lashes for more than just one night. They last at least three weeks before needing a touch-up and significantly reduce the need for eye makeup. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, you have long, voluminous lashes that frame your beautiful eyes!

If you’re getting Lashout Studio’s signature Activity-Z lashes for the very first time, the procedure may seem lengthy and intimidating. However, it only takes our expert stylists 30 to 60 minutes to apply high-quality, soft synthetic fiber hairs to your lash line using long-lasting glue.

While quality eyelash extensions should last you at least three weeks, proper care will ensure you get the most out of your session and make touch-ups a breeze. Here is our guide to natural eyelash extension aftercare:

Avoid Waterproof Eye Products

Waterproof makeup won't wash off with regular face wash, despite the name. It typically requires an oil-based cleaner to remove, which is a no-no when it comes to extensions. You don't even need mascara or liner as the extensions provide a comparable look to traditional eye-enhancing cosmetics. If you still want to go with a traditional eye makeup appearance, it's best to go with a non-waterproof option so that your makeup is simpler to remove.

Avoid Water for the First 48 Hours

Once your fresh set of extensions are installed, any moisture around the eyes is a no-go. You want the glue to set in so that your lashes last as long as possible. Wash around the eye when cleansing their face and use an oil-free makeup remover if they have to clean makeup off. To avoid washing the lashes directly within the first 48 hours, keep eye makeup to a minimum.

Skip Oil-Based Products

Oil degrades the adhesive that keeps the lashes in place, so customers must avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup removers. To prevent dissolving the adhesive, use a gel-based remover. Micellar water is another excellent choice for maintaining the adhesion of your extensions and removing dirt from them in general.

Give Them a Good Brush

Maintain your fluttery new lashes by brushing them out regularly. Brush them out when necessary. Most drugstores and beauty supply stores sell packs of clean spoolies. Otherwise, wash your mascara wand well the next time your tube runs dry, and you'll have your lash comb at your disposal.

Don't Pick Or Pull Lashes

You must avoid the temptation to play with their lashes during the day or when cleaning, no matter how enticing it may seem. Fiddling with the extensions may not only cause the fake lashes to fall out, but it can also harm your natural lashes. Every two to three weeks, touch-ups are required. If you don't have enough extensions to fill because you were touch-happy, your technician may charge you an additional fee, up to the cost of a whole new set.

Avoid Powerful Showerheads

Keep your extension against using high-pressure showerheads. The water pressure may tear your lashes out and create a beauty nightmare scenario on the tile floor. Another reason to take it easy when scrubbing as the steam generated by high water temperature may cause the newly applied adhesive to fail to cure correctly.

Quit Rubbing Your Eyes

This is much easier said than done, but if you're a chronic eye-rubber, you'll need to break the behavior if you want to continue wearing lash extensions. They'll start dropping like rain as a result of the friction, and you'll be out another total set price far sooner than you expected.

Final Thoughts

Eyelash extensions typically have a lifespan of around 50 days, which is the same as your natural lashes. It is usual for few lashes to fall out over time, so don't be surprised. If you wish to replace them as they fall out, it may be a good idea to schedule infills every two to three weeks. When they reach the end of their trip, you'll need to have them professionally removed.
